After graduating with a BBA from Texas A&M University, Jacqueline Rae Lamerson received her Juris Doctorate from St. Mary’s University in 2010. She began her career as an Assistant District Attorney in Nueces County, quickly moving through the ranks to become a lead felony prosecutor. She eventually joined the Nueces County District Attorney's Child Protect Unit, prosecuting the physical and sexual abuse of children. In 2015, Jacqueline jumped on the opportunity to return to San Antonio, and she joined the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office as a felony prosecutor. In 2017, Jacqueline began working in private practice criminal defense. She has tried approximately fifty (50) jury trials, including 1st degree felonies, both as a prosecutor and a defense attorney. She has authored twenty-five (25) appellate briefs and orally argued before the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. Jacqueline joined the Bexar County Public Defender’s Office in April 2018, assisting inmates with possible mental health issues in central magistration. She joined the Bexar County Public Defender’s Office Felony Trial Division in February 2019 and she serves as Chief of the Trial Division.
