Apply to be Youth Sports Volunteer Coach (ADD LINK). All volunteer coaches must pass a background check. That check can be completed online and Bexar County Parks & Recreation staff can email the link to prospective coaches. Teams are formed the week following the last day of registration. Once we have assessed how many teams we will have, we will begin to assign coaches to teams. Once this is completed, a Parks & Recreation staff will contact you to notify you that you have been assigned a team and to inform you of when the Coaches’ Orientation meeting will be. This meeting will be virtual.
All practices will be scheduled at Rodriguez Park. Once we have assessed how many teams we will have a schedule will be created of 1 hour time blocks for practice Monday- Friday starting at 6pm. Recreation Coordinator will assign slots, younger teams will receive the earliest slots.
Game schedules vary for each sport, but the majority of our sports are programmed for Saturday games and possibly Sunday dependent on number of teams.
