1. Is work from home an option?

After the probationary period, and as long as there is no disciplinary action pending against the employee, the employee may submit an application for work from home. Work from home is done on a rotating basis and the employee may be called into the office at any time during their work-from-home period. Some examples of needing to come into the office while you are working from home would be if another officer calls in to work; you may be asked to testify in court, you may need to transport a defendant or meet with one individually, or any number of reasons. Finally, Pretrial Services employees may be called back to permanent in-office work and work from home terminated at any time.

2. How long is the training period?

Training can last anywhere from 3 weeks to a few months depending on the unit the employee is placed in and how quickly the individual can learn and apply the information. 

3. What kind of advancement opportunities they have to promote within the department?

The Pretrial Bond Officer I is an entry-level officer position. As long as there are vacancies and the employee meets the minimum qualifications for the position they would like to promote into, there is room for advancement. The Pretrial Bond Officer III is our highest-level officer; the next level to promote to would be a supervisor. With the experience gained and with a good work ethic established; it is always possible to apply and grow with other positions within the county.
