1. Where can I get a copy of a Birth Certificate?

Hospital births and home births that occurred after 1967 within the city limits may be obtained at the Office of the City Clerk’s Office – Vital Records Division (which is the local registrar) located at 719 S Santa Rosa or by calling 210-207-8815.

All births that occurred in the rural part of Bexar County before 1967 and all births that occurred in Wilford Hall Military Medical Center (formerly Lackland AF Hospital) before 1967 may be obtained from the Bexar County Clerk’s Office.

2. What information do I need to obtain a birth certificate?

• Full name on birth certificate (registrant’s full name)
• Date and place of birth
• Full name of father and mother (including maiden name)
• Valid identification (current state DL / ID preferred)
• Purpose for obtaining the record

3. What is the cost of a birth certificate?

The cost for a birth certificate is $23.00 per copy.

4. What if I want to make a change to my birth certificate?
