Bexar County Clerk’s Free Vanguard Property Alert Service

The County Clerk’s Office has noticed an increase in attempts to illegally use real property for financial gain. Real property fraud occurs when a party fraudulently records documents against your property for financial gain or to take over ownership without your knowledge. It is a fast-growing crime as damaging as identity theft, with the added risk of losing your property.

The Honorable Lucy Adame-Clark and staff of the Bexar County Clerk’s Office first announced the release of the Vanguard Property Alert back in 2021. The Property Alert is a free real property alert system for all property owners in Bexar County. After creating an alert record using your name or other designated identifiers, subscribers will receive email notifications anytime a document is recorded in the Bexar County Clerk’s Official Public Records.

If subscribers receive an alert, they can view the actual document that was recorded in the Bexar County Clerk’s Office by clicking on the link that is provided in the email or by visiting the Public Portal at https://bexar.tx.publicsearch.us/

Sign up today by visiting the Bexar County Clerk’s website at: https://bexar.tx.publicsearch.us/. Select Property Alert at the top of the page and complete the registration process. Sign up today to protect yourself and your family from potentially losing your most valuable asset – real property, to include your house and vacant land.
