Pair indicted by Grand Jury for abducting, shooting man

This week, Bexar County Grand Juries handed down 232 felony indictments.

Uriah Huffman and Darryl King are charged in separate indictments with the following:

  • Aggravated kidnapping: The indictments allege that on April 23, 2022, Huffman and King intentionally and knowingly abducted another person, Joshua Sandoval, by using and threatening to use deadly force with intent to inflict bodily injury on Sandoval.
  • Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon: The indictments allege that on April 23, 2022, Huffman and King used and exhibited a deadly weapon (firearm), and Huffman and King intentionally, knowingly and recklessly caused bodily injury to Sandoval by shooting Sandoval with said deadly weapon.

The Criminal Trial Division is prosecuting these cases in the 187th District Court. Aggravated kidnapping is a first-degree felony punishable by 5 to 99 years or life in prison and a possible fine of up to $10,000.

Roger Flores Jr. is charged in a four count indictment with aggravated assault against a public servant. The indictment alleges that on May 29, 2022, Flores used and exhibited a deadly weapon (firearm) and that Flores intentionally, knowingly and recklessly threatened imminent bodily injury to four San Antonio Police Officers by pointing said deadly weapon at and in the direction of the officers, and that Flores knew the officers were public servants lawfully discharging their official duties as public servants, and in retaliation and on account of the officers’ exercise of official power and performance of their official duties as public servants. The Criminal Trial Division is prosecuting these cases in the 144th District Court. Aggravated assault against a public servant is a first-degree felony punishable by 5 to 99 years or life in prison and a possible fine of up to $10,000.

An indictment is not a finding of guilt. A person charged by indictment is presumed innocent until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt by a jury or a judge. Because these and potentially other cases are either pending or may be under investigation, we can make no further comment on them.

Copies of indictments may be requested from the Bexar County District Clerk. Information on court settings can be found by searching the case online or directly from the court.
