PUBLIC NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND COMMENT PERIOD FOR THE 2021-2025 CONSOLIDATED PLAN AND 2021 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN
Bexar County invites members of the public to review and offer comments on its draft 2021-2025 Consolidated Plan and 2021 Annual Action Plan.
Plan Summaries
Bexar County’s Consolidated Plan and Annual Action Plan identify the county’s community development, affordable housing, and homeless needs and sets priorities for the investment of federal grant funds. These plans are required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the County to receive HUD entitlement grants. For the upcoming program, year beginning on October 1, 2021 the County will receive $2,374,828 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, $702,066 in HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funds, and $204,107 in Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funds. The County proposes to use its HUD entitlement funds as follows:

Public Review Period
The Consolidated Plan and Annual Action Plan will be available for public review and comment for a 30-day period beginning Tuesday, June 8 and ending Thursday, July 8, 2021. The documents can be downloaded and viewed from the Bexar County Economic & Community Development Department webpage at www.bexar.org/2746/Reports or the Consolidated Plan project website at bexarcountyHUDplan.com.
Public Hearing
The County will hold a public hearing to present information from the Consolidated Plan and Annual Action Plan and to receive public comments on the drafts at the Bexar County Commissioners Court meeting on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 9:00 AM. The Commissioners Court meeting will take place in the Commissioners Courtroom located in the Bexar County Courthouse at 100 Dolorosa on the 2nd Floor.

Comments concerning the plans must be submitted to the County in writing by 5:00 pm on Thursday, July 8, 2021. Comments may be sent to Robert H. Reyna, Bexar County Community Development Manager by e-mail to rhreyna@bexar.org or by mail to Bexar County Community Development Division, 233 N. Pecos, Suite 320, San Antonio, TX 78207. Alternatively, comments may be made orally at the public hearing described above. All comments received will be included in Bexar County’s submission of the Consolidated Plan to HUD.
