A Bexar County man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for sexually abusing a 10-year old girl.
Justin Anthony Gonzales, 29, was charged by indictment with aggravated sexual assault of a child. The offenses were alleged to have occurred in January and February 2019. Justin Gonzales entered a guilty plea in January 2021. He was sentenced during a virtual hearing held via Zoom today to 20 years to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice – Institution Division.
“On the heels of a weeklong shutdown due to inclement weather and during a pandemic, our staff continues to seek justice for all victims of crime in Bexar County. While in-person court proceedings are restricted because of COVID-19 protocols, the resolution of this case spared the young victim from having to face her accuser in court and brought her abuser to justice,” said Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Brittany Mitchell and Alessandra Cranshaw of the Family Violence Division of the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office. It was investigated by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
