About our Offices
Central Magistration
The Central Magistrate Division, located in the Bexar County Jail, processes all arrests made within Bexar County that are Class B or Higher.
Civil Operations
The Civil Operations Division accepts all new suits and subsequent filings for civil and some family-related matters filed in the Bexar County District Courts.
Criminal Operations
Criminal Operations Division files all felony indictments, issues subpoenas, sets the case for the first settings and processes all criminal appeals and post-conviction writs. Additionally, this Division serves as clerk of the court for all Bexar County Criminal District Courts.
Civil Courts
The Civil Courts Division is responsible for maintaining the civil courts' daily non-jury dockets on all civil and family matters.
Finance Section
The Finance Division maintains the Court Registry. This includes monies deposited from lawsuits, cash bonds, cash bail bonds, and any other funds tendered to the clerk for deposit. The department also issues demand notices for costs and collect fees.
Juvenile
This Division files all petitions for Juvenile Delinquent Conduct and Children in Need of Supervision, issues subpoenas, set cases for hearing, and prepares the appeals on these cases. They also file Applications for Sealing of Juvenile Records and Applications for Restricted Access.
Passports
The Bexar County District Clerk's Office is a certified U.S Passport processing center. We accept walkins Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm in our Finance Department.
Records and Archives
The Records Division answers public inquiries as to the status and disposition of civil cases filed in this office, while the Archives section maintains all historical documents for the District Clerk's Office.
