About Judge Dominguez
Erica Dominguez is a Veteran of the United States Air Force. She proudly served her country for nearly eight years as a 2W1-Weapons Loader and deployed twice in support of both Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom in 2002 and 2003. As an Aircraft Armament System AFSC- she loaded and unloaded nuclear and nonnuclear munitions, explosives, and propellant devices on aircraft. Managed, controlled, maintained, and installed aircraft bomb, rocket, and missile release, launch, suspension, and monitor systems; guns and gun mounts; and related munitions handling, loading and test equipment. She won load competition of the quarter in 2003 with her crew having the least amount of overall discrepancies. She loaded and maintained the B1-B Lancer at Ellsworth AFB, SD and F-15 C/D Eagle at Nellis AFB, NV. She held positions of back shop and flight line. She attended Airman Leadership School through the Community College of the Air Force and was a Staff Sergeant with supervisory functions.
In 2011, she earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Nevada - Las Vegas and law degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at TSU in 2014. She volunteered at the Michael DeBakey VA Hospital assisting Veterans with drafting wills, consumer issues, tenant issues, and providing general legal advice.
In 2015, Erica began working for the Bexar County Public Defender's Office and devoted countless hours to ensuring those who cannot afford legal counsel still receive zealous representation. She has represented over 1,000 clients from initial arrest to the close of their case. In addition, she has worked in the specialty courts as the Defense Attorney for Mental Health Court, DWI Court and Adult Drug Court in the last 5 years.
Equipped with this experience, in January 2023, Erica was elected as Judge of Bexar County Court-At-Law No. 6. Erica has voluntarily added the responsibility of serving as the Veterans Treatment Court Judge as well - a job for which Erica is uniquely qualified. She knows that some wounds are invisible and cut much deeper than any scar. Erica believes in transparency, integrity, and fairness.
