REDACTION OF PERSONAL  IDENTIFIERS PROCEDURES AND  INFORMATION

Senate Bill 1134, passed by the 2021 Regular Session of the Texas Legislature, enhances the scope of identity protection for qualified individuals. SB 1134 amends Section 11.008 of the Property Code, providing for the redaction of certain personal information of a federal judge, including a federal bankruptcy judge, a marshal of the United States Marshals Service, a United States attorney, a state judge as defined by Section 572.002, Government Code, or a family member as defined by Section 31.006, Finance Code, of a federal judge, marshal, attorney, or state judge.

On receipt of a written request from a federal judge, including a federal bankruptcy judge, a marshal of the United States Marshals Service, a United States attorney, a state judge as defined by Section 572.002, Government Code, or a family member as defined by Section 31.006, Finance Code, of a federal judge, marshal, attorney, or state judge, the county clerk shall omit or redact the social security number, driver’s license number, and residence address on instruments available in an online database made public by the County Clerk.

Please complete the Request to Redact Information Form and identify the document number(s) from which you would like your social security number, driver’s license number, and residence address to be redacted. The redaction will occur once the request is received by the County Clerk’s Office. You may return the completed form by mail or in person.
