Bexar County Fostering Educational Success
Bexar County Children's Court, the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), Texas A&M-San Antonio (A&M-SA), the Alamo Colleges District (ACD), and Child Advocates San Antonio (CASA) is a collaborative pilot program that aims to improve college graduation rates for foster care alumni. We will empower youth with a history of foster care, using trauma-informed and holistic care, to increase educational attainment and employment preparedness.
Guided by our students’ lived experiences, we will advocate for policy change, fight for social justice, and continuously work to identify needs, bridge connections, and promote success in all areas of life. We will provide barrier-free access to education and housing, promote the power of our student’s voices, teach skills that aid in building supportive relationships and community connections and encourage positive expectations for the future.
