Requesting Records

To request a copy of records, mail your request along with a check or money order to:

The fees for services are located on the Fee Schedules under Services, or you can email your request and we will reply notifying you of the fees for the records requested.

It usually takes 8 - 12 weeks to complete a report, however due to unprecedented caseloads there may be a significant delay (beyond 12 weeks) in report completion. Please do not send any requests before 12 weeks as we cannot accept any public information requests for open cases. Be sure to include the deceased’s name, date of death, and return address on your request (or an email address if you prefer to have it emailed). A Request for Public Information form must be submitted, either by email to MERecords@Bexar.org, mail, or in person during business hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

Pursuant to section 552.108(a)(1) cases with law enforcement interest will be sent to the District Attorney’s Office for review before we can release any records.
