Briscoe Western Art Museum

THE BRISCOE WESTERN ART MUSEUM The Dolph and Janey Briscoe Western Art Museum will offer unique opportunities for visitors of all ages and interests to learn about Western American art and history, and particularly that of South Texas. Whether you have a serious interest in the art of the American West, are in town to tour San Antonio, or are visiting with a school group, you will find exhibitions and programs that are certain to interest you. Fort Sam Houston Museum

THE FORT SAM HOUSTON MUSEUM depicts the history of Fort Sam Houston and the Army in this region. This includes the development of the installation, the activities of tenant units and organizations, the events which occurred here which affected the Army, the Nation, and the service of soldiers stationed here. Towards this end, the Museum collects, preserves, and displays artifacts and other materials that document or depict the history of Fort Sam Houston.

Brooks City Base Icon

HANGER 9 MUSEUM OF FLIGHT MEDICINE at Brooks Air Force Base is a 1918 hanger, the only remaining WWI aircraft hangar in the US Air Force, contains exhibits about the history of the base, the development of manned flight, and the evolution of aviation medicine.

Institute Cultural de Mexico

INSTITUTO CULTURAL DE MEXICO The Instituto Cultural de Mexico at San Antonio, Texas, is the Permanent Cultural Representation of the Mexican Government in this city. This Institute has been linked since its beginnings to the cultural life of San Antonio, and so, one of our main tasks is to ensure the growth and strengthening of such a link by promoting direct and active participation of the community.

Lackland Air Force Base Aircraft Display

LACKLAND AIR FORCE BASE AIRCRAFT DISPLAY is known as the "Gateway to the Air Force" since all enlisted members begin their careers here at Basic Training. Because of this unique mission the base receives thousands of requests for tours each year. Lackland is a closed installation, so all guests must be sponsored by someone with a valid military ID. The 37th Training Wing Public Affairs office can sponsor groups, contact them at (210) 671-2907 .

McNay Art Museum

THE McNAY ART MUSEUM The mission of the McNay Art Museum is to maintain an art museum on the premises of the estate of Mrs. McNay for the advancement and enjoyment of modern and early art for the educational advantage of the public.

Pioneer Trail Drivers Texas Rangers Museum

PIONEER TRAIL DRIVERS TEXAS RANGERS MUSEUM traces the role of the Texas Rangers, the first law enforcement agency in Texas, with exhibits covering every aspect of their lives from badges to saddlebags. The museum also explores the lives of pioneer families who settled in Texas, and the cowboys who drove longhorn cattle north to the railroads. This small museum was created for the 1936 Texas Centennial and is located at 3805 Broadway St San Antonio, TX 78209 (210) 822-9011.

San Antonio Art League Museum

THE SAN ANTONIO ART LEAGUE MUSEUM Organized in 1912, the San Antonio Art League exhibits artists' works, acquires paintings for public viewing, & and functions as an art school. In 1926 the Art League began sharing space with the Witte Museum, & in 1927 the Museum of Art school was born. The school closed during World War II but Mrs. Marion Koogler McNay allowed the school to continue classes on the McNay Estate. After many relocations, the art league now resides in the King William Historic District.

The Texas Air Museum

THE TEXAS AIR MUSEUM Since 1999, the Texas Air Museum at Stinson Field has been dedicated to telling the story of Texas and San Antonio's vital role in the development of military air power. It also pays tribute to aviation pioneers, technical achievements in the realm of aviation, and above all, pays respect and honor to those who gave their lives to defend freedom.

Texas Rangers Museum

THE TEXAS RANGERS MUSEUM The Former Texas Ranger Association and the Buckhorn Museum have joined forces to create the new Texas Ranger Museum. Located in downtown San Antonio, the museum contains numerous artifacts, treasured documents and memorabilia documenting the history and lore of the Texas Rangers.

Texas Transportation Museum

THE TEXAS TRANSPORTATION MUSEUM is an all volunteer organization that collects, preserves and displays historically significant transportation equipment and related items. We operate a working passenger railroad, several model train layouts and many road vehicles. We provide an educational and entertaining experience which interprets how developments in transportation technology shaped and continue to impact daily life.

U.S. Army Medical Department Museum

THE US ARMY MEDICAL DEPARTMENT MUSEUM (AMEDD) holds a worldwide reputation as one of the most outstanding facilities of its kind. Military medical artifacts are displayed in an environment that blends the visualization of history with the presentation of the Army's contributions to medicine during times of both war & peace. It serves as a living reference & augments the training of the more than 36,000 students who attend the U.S. Army Academy of Health Sciences at Fort Sam Houston each year.

Witte Museum

THE WITTE MUSEUM, located on the banks of the beautiful San Antonio River in Brackenridge Park, is San Antonio's premier museum focusing on South Texas history, science and water resources. Founded in 1926 the Witte is home to an extensive permanent collection featuring historic artifacts & photographs, Texas art, textiles, the world-renowned Hertzberg Circus Collection, dinosaur bones, cave drawings, Texas wildlife dioramas & the four-story H-E-B Science Treehouse; in addition to nationally acclaimed traveling exhibits.
