The County’s Department of Small Business and Entrepreneurship Department (SBED) embodies the strong partnership between economic development and entrepreneurship. The SB&E Department, which is charged with the responsibility of administrating the Small, Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (SMWVBE) Program, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program and coordination for US DOT Title VI Regulations as applied to Bexar County’s Federal Highway (FHWA) funded projects, seeks to establish innovative programs that involve new or existing businesses and provide monitoring and compliance.

Virtual Business Center

The Bexar County SBED Virtual Business Center is designed to serve the small business owners and entrepreneurs of Bexar County. It provides information on starting and growing your business, working with Bexar County, discovering new opportunities, and more. We strive to increase small, minority, and women-owned business participation in Bexar County projects and procurements through the integration of public, non-profit, and private sector efforts and resources.

The site is broken into six main sections to help you find what you are looking for -

How Do I… provides helpful links, connections, and links for businesses that are just starting up, looking to grow, or who want to do business with Bexar County. Information on education & training events, registering as a Bexar County Vendor, and getting your business certified are only a sample of what is available for you.

Opportunities, also known as the Opportunity Link, provides links and information about local, state, and federal government entities, as well as school districts, colleges & universities, and general contractors

Directory  connects you with multiple databases, such as the Contract & Diversity Management System (CDMS), the Bexar County Purchasing Supplier Portal, the Texas Centralized Master Bidders List (CMBL), and the Texas Unified Certification Program (TUCP).
